I’ll keep this brief because I’d rather show you than tell you. Polished & Well is a beauty publication for women who want to look good and feel like themselves doing it. It’s edited carefully, written honestly, and exists because most of the beauty content online is made for someone else.
What this site actually is
An editorial blog covering makeup, skincare, routines, and reviews. I write everything here. I test what I review. I don’t accept sponsorships, paid placements, or “gifted” products with strings attached. The only money this site earns comes from affiliate links — which means if you click through to a recommended course or product and purchase, I might earn a small commission at no cost to you. Everything affiliate is marked clearly.
Who I am
I’m the editor of Polished & Well. I’m not famous, I don’t have a face you’d recognise, and I quite like it that way. I’m a woman in her forties who spent twenty years buying beauty products that didn’t suit me, watching tutorials made for younger women, and feeling vaguely lectured-at by every magazine I picked up. This site is the publication I wished existed when I was forty-one and trying to figure out why my foundation kept settling into my smile lines.
What I believe
- Makeup is a creative tool, not a moral obligation.
- You should look like the best version of yourself now, not a younger version of yourself from a decade ago.
- The right product, well-applied, beats the most expensive product applied badly.
- Most “anti-aging” marketing is psychological warfare. Use the products that have real evidence and ignore the rest.
- Good beauty advice doesn’t make you feel bad about yourself.
What I won’t do
- Recommend products I haven’t tested.
- Accept sponsorship in exchange for positive coverage.
- Pretend something is good when I think it isn’t.
- Use AI-generated photos or fake testimonials.
- Sell your email or send you anything other than what you signed up for.
How to contact me
For questions, recommendations, or anything else: contact page. I read everything personally. Replies might take a few days, but they’re always real.
For partnership inquiries: the answer to “can we send you our product for review” is yes if you understand my review will be honest. The answer to “would you write a sponsored post about our brand” is no.
